Transcendence
Johnny Depp plays Will Caster, prominent researcher and developer in the A.I. world. Along with his wife and trusted colleague, Will is trying to create a self-aware machine that contains infinite knowledge and full range of human personality and emotion.
When he and his colleagues become the targets for radical guerrilla hackers, Will finds himself faced with the inescapable fact that he, out of necessity, becomes the first living participant in what he calls Transcendence. And it works. Suddenly Evelyn (Rebekah Hall) and Max (Paul Bettany) have to decide how much of this new Will is actually Will, and who’s interests is he working toward?
An eventual split between Will’s thirst for knowledge and power and Max’s human morality sets the stage for the inevitable question. Can something that is smarter than you be stopped by you? We ride through this film accompanied by impressions of our favorite South African Rapper, a business proposal for Cowboy Curtis, the plot of the movie The Sandlot, a shoutout to a twitter fan, and a new blend called Allsorts.
