Bats & Butterflies

This week on High-Dere, Ian & Joe take flight over the proverbial hill toward planet Altair, and into a magical world full of beauty and antagonists of all kinds with author and lover of life, Elijah Schkeiban.

After meeting in a coffee shop and randomly being introduced to Elijah’s fascinating David and Goliath tale, Ian & Joe had to have him on the show.

They talk about Elijah's 1988 script-turned-2002-book, Bats & Butterflies, and the monstrous task he undertook when, in 2009, he began to suspect that his material had been infringed upon by 20th Century Fox and James Cameron through their production of the film Avatar.

From his creative process and habits, to the disciplined and philosophical mind it takes to be a writer, and even touching on his royal Lebanese bloodline dating back to the 1100s, Elijah is someone who had many different experiences in his life, and it was a pleasure having him on this 40th episode of High-Dere.
